Thailand was never colonized. And this means that the country has a look and feel that is truly unique to Southeast Asia. Where Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos were colonized by France and Myanmar, Malaysia and Singapore by the British, Thailand maintained as a wholly unique and independent country. So why was Thailand never colonized and what does the country look and feel like today?
In this video, Geoff and Alexa are off first to Thailand's historic capital Ayutthaya to explore the country's ancient roots and then to the country's ultra-modern capital of Bangkok. Throughout it all they'll explore historic ruins, modern palaces, and Thailand's uniquely uncolonized culture.
